Barranquilla Carnaval Events 2010

 

Although the Barranquilla Carnaval has lots of free events and entertainment there are many ways to spend your money too.

If you want to be treated as a VIP there are a number of options including a seat in the shade up in the stands which costs 340,000 pesos (about 150 US $) – there is a free bar and snacks. There are also cheaper options at 140,000 pesos.

Colombians with disposable wealth do not mind spending it on a good cause (women, concerts, clothing). The main concert – Concierto Metropolitano – which will have artists such as Juan Luis Guerra and Checo Acosta and Joe Arroyo (all three favourites of the Barranquilleros and an essential ingredient of any good Carnaval celebration) is sure to be well attended and for those with 6,000 US $ or so (15 milliones de pesos!) to spend you can hire a VIP stand for ten people. Of course there are cheaper options for about 100,000 pesos.

At Hotel Dann Carlton, Eddy Herrera and Sergio Vargas will be head-lining at  another concert with about 10 other performers, here VIP treatment will cost just 220,000 pesos.
